selected by Nature over hundreds of millions of years for their highly specific activity on a wide variety of pharmacological targets.
Despite their promising future in Pharmaceuticals, Crop Science or Cosmetics most of them are still unknown. Reasons for that range from lack of availability of good quality venoms to difficulties to work on such a complex mixture.

KITOXAN®
KITOXAN® is a unique library of venom fractions available in 96-well plates for Discovery research and medicinal biochemistry. Venoms have been first cleared from molecules over 8.500 Da (cytotoxic enzymes). On the basis of its HPLC chromatogram each venom has been split up in 20 fractions. Each fraction is expected to contain 5 to 10 peptides at a ~10 µmolar total concentration on average in 100µl. Separation of peptides on HPLC basis makes easier the identification of the active peptide once a hit is detected.
